What Is In A Name?

“It’s Your Day” isn’t just the name of the Chattahoochee Valley’s premiere catering service; it’s also a promise to you. After all, it is your day.

It could be a day set aside to celebrate the young love of a new husband and wife, or to commemorate the day she first said “yes.” A day to congratulate your business associates for their hard work, or a day to raise charity for those who have fallen on hard times.

Whether your day happens to be a wedding, reunion, graduation, charity event, or some other sort of soiree, what matters most is that it is special to you. And because it is, it is special to us, too. For a day such as this to come off without a hitch takes long hours of planning and coordinating. And that’s before the guests even arrive!

The checklist is daunting. The venue and the menu. The bartender and the caterer. The entertainment and decorations. The photographer and videographer. It can be overwhelming and stressful, especially if you try to go it alone. And, at the end of the day, the real tragedy is you end up spending most of the day trying to steer the ship and end up floating through your own party, experiencing your day more through the photographs taken than actual memories made.

This is your day. You should enjoy it! That’s what we offer here at “It’s Your Day” Catering. You just plan on having a good time. We’ll take care of the rest.

It’s Your Team…

SALES MANAGERS

Amanda Caldwell, Director of Catering, has been with Valley Hospitality for over 4 years and has 6 years experience in professional event planning. A native of Clearwater, Florida Amanda began her event planning career as a decorator for trade shows, corporate parties, weddings, and bah mitzvahs. Over the years she has also cultivated her knowledge in food and beverage to become a well rounded event planner. Her dedication to organization and details make all of her events flow seamlessly.

“I love to see all of the details and pieces come together at the end of the day to make my client’s event a true success.”

Currently, Amanda specializes in corporate catering and event design, making her the perfect planner for the businesses and industries that thrive in our community. With current clients operating in 12 separate Columbus venues, she is well versed in the highlights that each venue has to offer.

In Amanda’s free time she loves to travel with her husband Buddy to all types of new places.

Lindsay Wright, Director of Catering, joined the Valley Hospitality team as an Assistant General Manager of the Fife and Drum restaurant, located in the National Infantry Museum, over 3 years ago.  Since then, she has advanced and refined her skills as an event planner and designer.  Lindsay began her journey in food and beverage over 10 years ago, working in various restaurants and coordinating wine dinners in the Atlanta area.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a focus in small business, which helped with the introduction and growth of It’s Your Day catering.

“I listen to my client and work hard to make their vision into a reality.”

Lindsay uses her sense of style and warm personality to put her clients at ease.  Her attention to detail and organizational skills help relax her clients and allows them to enjoy the event planning process.

“My goal is to make each event innovative and special.  I like to push the limits with the Chef and Event Manager to make every detail polished, but unique.  I want my clients to feel proud of the event they hosted.”

Currently, Lindsay resides in Phenix City, Alabama with her daughter, Isabelle.  When she is not creating the perfect day for her clients, she spends her time working out, trying the newest restaurant with friends or snuggling up with a book and her two dogs.

EVENT MANAGERS:

Jennifer Massey started out as a Banquet Server over four years ago diligently working her way up in the company, creating a position for herself as the Offsite Supervisor.  She has continued to grow and learn from others and is now the Event Manager at the National Infantry Museum.  Her wide range of experience has even allowed her to entertain several high ranking government dignitaries.  Jennifer loves to do offsite catering because of her strong background in logistics and enjoys the challenge of a new setting. “I have learned so much about floral arrangements and room décor over the years, I am often surprised when my creative juices start flowing and I get to see the final product.” When she isn’t working, Jennifer spends time with her son and grandmother.

Liz Fields is the newest addition to the Event Team, coming to us from Fort Knox, Kentucky. She has four years in catering and over ten years in Food and Beverage experience.  She strives to perfect even the smallest details in the design of an event.  Liz specializes in napkin folding techniques that add an amazing focal point for any function, be it large or small.  Her out-of-the-box approach results in a creative, but functional, room aesthetic.  “I enjoy making beautiful things out of nothing; even my clients with the smallest budget will have a gorgeous room setup.  Their happiness is my satisfaction.”  Liz is a proud Army wife and her four beautiful children keep her busy.

Terri Pesca has been with the company for over three years. She has a total of twenty years experience in Food and Beverage with a focus in event design. Terri is our Master Florist who crafts gorgeous arrangements on any budget. Her artistic abilities help her to conceive a vision and leave the guests with a lasting impression. Terri’s sometimes quirky, perfectionist personality enables her to be hands on, insuring each detail is carefully chosen.  “I love seeing the client beam when their guest approves with praises on the event and asks them how they came to choose us.  In the end it’s the client that needs to come off like a Superstar.”  During her spare time, Terri loves to work in her garden and home.
